How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

hi I have three girls who are two years old. Well fed, lots of freedom, happy healthy. We live in New England so this winter they hardly blaid at all. Last winter they laid all season. But now it's nearly June and I am getting maybe one egg a day! I got three tiny little eggs like the size of a robins egg over the winter. Is somethig wrong?? I was told to get a rooster

maybe feed them too much or maybe they lay outside the coop? are they molting?
many reasons a bird won't lay

but cannot stay with mine as I know nothing of it
I wonder who it belongs to? Do you think someone dumped it or did it wander away?

It may just be that they are older and have slowed down. The reason they laid well last winter was because it was their first winter. A lot of people have great luck with their younger chickens laying through the first winter.
As to their lack of laying now, it may be breed related. What breed(s) do you have? Some breeds are more prolific layers than other breeds.

16 eggs for me today.

None. With my broken ankle, my husband has to go out and care for my birds. He doesn't gather eggs on a daily basis. I think my 2 LSG dogs are eating some of the eggs because I am not getting as many eggs as there should be when my husband does gather them. I'm lucky to get a dozen eggs every 3 or 4 days and I have a lot more hens, guineas, ducks, geese and turkeys than 12.

Oh, a broken ankle sounds awful! I hope you heal quickly!

Thank you. It's been awful but on the 7th of next month I can start to walk on it, in my boot, again. I see the Dr a week later and then may have to wear the boot for another 4 weeks.
