Two waiting on number three but its raining and Marlene's a diva so I might be waiting a while.

14 again today. Lost another hen last night. Apparently 2 hens stayed out to party all night & I didn't notice. Went to open the coops this morning and saw the barred rock out walking around. I knew that was odd. When I went into the chicken yard I saw the remains of a Rhode Island Red. They were 2 of the 4 hens that I had moved to a new coop. Had to catch the Barred Rock tonight to put her back in the coop. Silly girl didn't learn anything from her friends death.

I am sorry there that is tough to walk into
we ended last night trimming wings so all birdy brains stayed home today
but our baby cockerel is still mia so only 2 from them but 14 from the main coop

Lol got four today Marlene didn't lay yesterday but made up for it with one normal egg and a little fart egg.Told y'all hens a diva.

16/18- (still waiting for 19 wk olds to start laying) 13 of them. The additional roof on the run were finally done.

Only 11 eggs today. 2 more hens stayed out to party. 1 is on top of the coop & I can't reach her. The other is so well hidden that I can't find her! We'll see if they make it through the night or night. I told my hubby that I might as well butcher them. If they are going to be a meal for someone, it might as well be us.

I've heard that putting down lime helps with the stink, but I've never tried it.
