3/6 from the older flock.
11/12 from the pullets...their best day yet! The Welsummers are laying gorgeous dark brown with almost black speckled eggs.

9 eggs today. Didn't get to butcher any chickens because I was taking my mom on errands. But I did move 3 chickens to a " holding pen". So that's what I need to do tomorrow.

I got 14 nests for 28 layers, 5 doesn't get used. One black sex link prefers the corner of the coop from the get go, it's been a year sometime it gets kicked under the beddings in the middle of the coop, so it gets stepped on.

26 eggs today

We have a Light Sussex that does the same thing and we always sift the pine shavings to make sure we don't miss one. She is a big girl and doesn't like to go in the nest boxes. I may build a jumbo size one just for her and see if it helps.

With it being Labor Day the girls got their work done early 6/6 again

Also a tiny egg, so maybe the last holdout just laid and I'll get a fifth later today.

Edited: No such luck with a fifth egg.
