How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

11 eggs today. May be 12 but I didn't check in the butcher pen. ( chickens waiting to be butchered)

I butchered 5 Cockerels today and I figured out a few things i hope i don't forget it by the time I butcher again.

21 very colorful eggs blue, green, a couple are laying a pinkish looking egg, all shades of brown And dark browns chocolate from my 4 FCM. One of the Cockerels I butchered today was a FCM he was a bruiser and the best looking bird out of the 5.
I might start converting my flock to them.

18 Eggs today, fun lazy Sunday

3/5 today. RIRs and my Aussie girl are the frequent layers. EE and Wellie take breaks. EE looks like a Welsummer with pea comb and slate legs.

I think I have 2 roos out of 4 chicks. Not happy.

12 eggs today. Spent the morning figuring out how to field dress and butcher a deer. My daughter hit a small deer last night with her car. Broke 3 of its legs. Conservation agent said for my hubby not to put it down, they were calling a deputy to do it. That was 7pm last night. As of 8am the poor thing was barely hanging on. No one ever showed up to do the deed. Called the agent back (probably a different one), she gave us permission to put it down. Hubby was concerned about someone calling the cops or something if they saw us since the deer was right by the side of the road. Really angry that the poor deer had to suffer all night long. It was senseless.

Lol. I always seem to "forget" all the great tips I figure out. Then I feel like I make a mess of the first few I do each year. Or at least it seems to take twice as long.

I have backed from butchering at all take them to auction I get 20 to 30 a cockerel there I can buy chicken meat for that money

At least 3 new layers out of 4. 1 coop of 7 hens not laying many eggs due to heavy molting.
