If it's not actively bleeding maybe leave the dressing off and open to the air and just keep it clean? Not sure but maybe bluekote on it? I'm sure someone can chime in here on that. Her ripping the dressing off could be causing more damage and slowing the healing process. Hard to tell without seeing it.

She bleeds, I clean her up, Neosporin (w/o pain), bluekote, off to the infirmary. I bandage it if we can’t get it to stop bleeding. Then like 4-7 days later... she’s bleeding again. In 2 months... she’s bled about weekly.

I feel like it might be time. I can’t fix her every time she reopens it. It’s like she isn’t bright enough to leave it alone. But she’s so sweet. And it would be my very first culling. I’m super sad.

I do understand the hurt and sadness that come with wish I could give magic how big is the wound ? A picture fairly close is this a would you can pull together?

have 14 black copper marans eggs in my incubator getting more excited daily

Will you be able to candle them? I though it was pretty much impossible to see what is going on due to shell colour? I couldn't even see through my blue Araucana eggs so maybe I'm not the best to say anything - I also thought I'd seen viens etc on 4 infertile eggs so just ignore me now that I think about it

if she is suffering and there is no way of stopping it then it may be the kindest thing.
2/3 so far but Mabel is always a bit later in the morning.

So Mabel did lay a bit later so another 3/3 day but I dropped it as I was closing the gate I guess it had to happen at some point . Small hole fencing all installed so new mum can take her babies outside might go down and have a peek if she has

28 yesterday, weird thing is some hens keep on adding eggs to the broody Australorps and they’re not fertile eggs. I should start marking the eggs for hatching.
