How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

They are due today or tomorrow, I was looking forward to see more hatch since I want more of the Olive Egger and Black Copper Marans
(The last incubator hatched 8 wks ago, I got 8 roo out of 13 :() Plus I promised a friend with 3 small kids a couple of chicks this week. Broody II was off probably for half a day. It was 60s (18*C) that day. Broody III & IV are due to hatch eggs later next week.
Fingers crossed some of them at least are OK. Bummer about all the roos - I'm looking at my 1st little hatched family of 4 and thinking 2 roos, possibly 1 pullet plus Edward Scissorbeak who honestly I don't think will make it - he is so tiny compared to the others. Not great results from the 9 eggs I put under her! At least with my Sussex she is big so I can put more under her than the silkies

About to brave the weather to go out and see what is happening!

Yehaa! one chick hatched this morning from broody II, after thinking that all her eggs had got cold and died, no photos yet since I was heading to work and I just instinctively stuck my hand under her and found an empty shell then a fluffy chick but couldn't see it since I didnt want to upset her.

:weeYey, what kind?
Not sure about that first one - I think there are 2 yellow ones (a Faverolles and a Orpington I think) and a black and yellow (Australorp).

:yesss::yesss::ya:yafab news! Look forward to pics later!

I'm just home. Today is a 13/2 day as I just picked up 12 eggs for Mabel - 6 Marans (Black, Blue and Splash), 4 Vorwerks, 1 Cream Legbar :yesss::yesss::ya:ya and a random Pekin Bantam!

Faverolles (I think!) for the first little yellow one as there are cute little feathers on it's legs :ya:ya:jumpy:jumpy

Late this afternoon we went down again as I couldn't help myself wanted to make sure there wasn't any shells left and to check everything is OK. I quickly (gently and very carefully) lifted her up and this is what we saw :love:love

The Faverolles and I'm guessing 2 Australorps (?) and 1 Orpington (although slightly confused as I thought they were Splash and there seems to be a lot of dark or is the one with more yellow closest to mum likely to turn splash??). :wee:ya:ya:ya:weeOne zipping (dh saw it moving so hopefully all good - I put mum straight back so she was only off a few seconds really) and I couldn't see any signs in the quick time she was off. I'm pleased with 4 - will be super pleased if the 5th comes out as well and shocked / amazed if the 6th turns into a chick! I did smell something but I couldn't tell if it was just the bit of yuck that Doris got on her yesterday.

I'm questioning my decision now - maybe I should have taken the potentially bad egg out and candled it. What do you think??
