Surprise! 22 Eggs Today!

Mixed each egg slightly in a silicone muffin cup and froze. Once frozen I popped them out and stored them in a freezer bag.

Did it work well? Were the eggs only good for baking or OK in omlettes etc?

At least it is a big one - nothing more annoying than only having one for it to be a banty egg or a fairy fart egg!!!

I got a goose egg today.


that means ZERO since I don't have geese.

Today we got dump on 6” of snow (15.24 cm) and more coming down, I love the snow, it’s so beautiful when it’s cold might as well have white stuff covers everything.

I suppose they would be fine for baking things that just need "eggs", nothing special like separating them. I don't think we needed them for Christmas cookies. 2 girls laid until near the end of Nov and one of those almost to Christmas so we probably squeaked by not using those for other things. Couldn't tell the difference in omelettes, scrambled, pancakes, waffles etc.

4 yesterday including 1 frozen and cracked one from Lana. It was in the middle open box, not in the hay roll nest so I think she must have had the need to lay after their auto door closed the night before. And that is why it was frozen so hard, wouldn't have been if she had laid it in the morning.

Yes, but my most dependable daily layer is still whacked out over her last broodiness. Argh! The 2 BRs are actually taking turns, so one brown egg a day, but I miss my little daily green egg.

2 as of 11 AM. Little Lana laid in the middle open box again today. Maybe since the alpacas aren't going out she isn't heading into her hay bale nest. Works for me!
