Our hatchery Faverolles and your French Faverolles may not have a lot in common other than the name and general appearance. I wouldn't say my Favs were/are big birds, kinda average size. Don't write off your large eggs until you don't get any. In my experience it takes a couple of months for a pullet to get to a "regular" size egg and maybe won't hit their "usual" size until they are close to a year old.ReallyI thought I'd be getting really nice sized eggs - do you think that was just your girls or are Faverolles generally small. I'm sure the eggs I put under for hatching were much bigger than that.
Oh my. Yes you clearly need a nice basket to carry the eggs in from now on! Try to remember to take it back down to the coop. I sometimes have a problem with that unless I put it on top of my boots so I at least have to pick it up before I go out.Just been down and there is 5 - one seemed slightly warm though so thinking that is from today!.
