How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I have 6 from main coop think 4 of the EE I bought 4 years ago have quit laying daily now going like every three days 1 from Silky

Well, I found the last of the original 4 marans I bought not even a week ago a dead this morning. Everybody else seems very vigorous and eating and drinking. Hopefully that is the last of that.

What is it with them I have the one that hatched from eggs I got here just 8 of them but 3 clear two died in the shell they just could not get there

Of the 4 marans chicks I bought 3 have died 1 each day. I'm not sure what the issue is. I did get 3 more and another turkey pullet andchicks from school I did spread some chick food on the ground of the brooder in case they were not eating out of the food container and I made sure to dip every chicks beak in the water container. So, hopefully whatever was the problem was, it has been remedied. I did watch they chicks this morning and saw some of them drinking and eating and some were even eating out of the food container. I guess whatever happens happens.

What kind of Marans are they? That’s pretty sad, maybe genetic problems? My black Copper Marans are my strongest chicks and chickens very robust, I still have to 3 from my original (since 2015) and the ones that hatched 2 yrs ago from a $24 egg, mothered 15+ of my Marans layers now and hatching 10 from her offspring with different BCMarans rooster.

I have 20 Black Australorp hens. Yesterday I got 17 eggs. So far today I have got 12 chicken eggs. I also have 6 Muscovy duck hens, 3 of which haven't started laying yet. Yesterday I got 2 duck eggs and today I got 3.

That is odd about the Marans, mine are also my strongest - the only chick I had make it from one hatch was my Marans roo! Also can't believe how well they are laying - 2 pretty much every day - I know it is first season but pretty impressed!

39 Eggs yesterday and blank blank today, I think I need counseling, it’s revealing how many chickens I’d been hoarding. Wife doesn’t even know how many chickens we got since she haven’t been out in the 2 coops during winter.

11 here. I started over with a new flock last fall when we moved. 23 pullets in the coop, 1 is broody. Everyone is 28-30 weeks old. Still way too many eggs, I'm lucky my husband's coworkers like to buy them!
