How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

12 eggs today, maybe 13. It looks like 2 eggs were eaten. I know one was because they shell was still in the nest. Another nest just had what looked like the goo from an eaten egg.

When I was locking the chickens up I noticed that I was missing one of the 1 to 2 month old white leghorns. My dog pushed through a spot in the fence that wasn't secured very well any more and she found the pullet and herded it back towards me!
So, all is good. All of the chickens are accounted for. Good dog!

Thank you! I meant to tell you how much you’ve inspired me to can some things this year. Pear sauce, tomato sauce and my berries are in the freezer waiting for a rainy day to make jam.

15 eggs today including one brown egg that was broken under the roost board. The shell was a good hard shell. I don’t know if it got trampled during the chicken rodeo that is my husband catching hens to bring to me in the shed for their health checks. Everyone passed their health check- yea! Minor issues that are easily addressed.

Even dozen today. Only 2 leghorn and 1 EE. But no broken or soft shells so that’s a plus.
