Good news on the egg laying. 14 today but included a soft leghorn egg again. That means only Ruby who is broody and Lily who just came off broody didn’t lay.

Bad news on Lily. She’s not well. She was fine yesterday. Today she separated herself, acts lethargic, no interest in food including scratch and grapes (she loves grapes) and worse, green bile poop. Gave her a health check. She looks great (color, eyes, mouth, etc) except her crop was balloon like. Felt like air but when gently massaged she threw up liquid. Quite a bit. So now I’m hoping it’s sour crop. It’s late so nothing more to do tonight. I’m going to go back out though and take the food and water out of the hospital. I’ll set my alarm for early so I can check her first thing.

2 today and it looks like Betty (2 Y/O Welsummer) wants to go broody again. I had to move her to the roost from the community box tonight
It is supposed to be below freezing tonight, maybe that will change her mind.

I got 2 eggs today from my 10 22-week-old pullets that have just started laying. Yesterday I got 4 eggs. That has been the pattern and it appears that I have 2 pullets that are laying an egg every other day. Looking forward to the other girls to start laying eggs, but they are all coming along fine.
