How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I am at 0 yes light is huge a factor so is molting here or having 7 not pol yet not far off but may not start till spring now

I got 5 today, but one was cracked so take home was only 4! Out of 10 hens. This molting business is no joke!

I got 4 for four again! My girls’ little eggs are adorable, but I do have plenty.

Only 13 eggs today. Had to go on a "chicken hunt this evening when we got home from our friend's house. I found her in the other chicken yard on top of the old dog pen. She is one of the newer egg layers. so I'm glad I found her before a predator did!

Lately I'm getting exactly three eggs a day, from my New Hampshire pullet, my Turken pullet, and my Cochin/Rosecomb hen. I have two other laying hens, d'Uccle mixes, but they're molting and on an egg break.

Finding a hidden nest greatly increases the eggs you find LOL

10 in a hidden nest, plus 5 LOL

Do a float test on the hidden nest eggs. If they float they are bad, if they sink they are good.

Why only one? I’m late to the egg count thread. Did yours quit due to loss of light?

Presumably. That plus moulting. Some are done but usually don't lay again until February, some are mid moult. The ones that are laying haven't yet moulted. Looking forward to the 8 pullets starting to lay! Likely another month.
