What do you think is happening with Penelope? Molting?

She's still young, not quite 6 months. She laid 6-8 eggs in 2weeks, then stopped. Hopefully, she'll start up again soon.

Sorry about the hen. That always is a bummer. And why is it always when we’re time crunched, stressed or not home. Makes a situation even more difficult.

Thanks! The wedding was great! I think I got some good pictures too.
The down side to the trip was that my Mom got sick this morning around 3 AM. We ended up having to take her to the ER around 6 AM. They released her around 10:30 AM and gave us prescriptions for an inhaler and an antibiotic. By the time we drove her back to her assisted living apartment (3+ hours away) she was really out of it. She thought she was still in the hospital and could barely talk, or even stand up to pivot and get in bed ( with help)! The assisted living place called an ambulance and had her transferred to a local hospital ER. They finally diagnosed "non specific infection" and admitted her to the hospital. Not sure how long they will keep her.

I got 11 eggs from the girls today. My chicken sitter got 18 eggs yesterday and 6 eggs the day before that one.
