How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Numbers are dropping, I got 5 yesterday 4 from my hens and one from my pullet. But I did pick up 4 ex barn hens which laid me 3 eggs so a grand total of 8 eggs from 21 laying girls.

10 today, one had a toe punch in it which is sad since it had to be from the hen that laid it. Last egg of the day and it had to have been after 2:30 PM when I gave the girls their afternoon scratch and collected eggs. That nest was empty other than the golf ball at the time.

Penny I have 6. 3 Salmon Faverolles hens, one is 3 1/2, the other two are 2 1/2 years old. I have 3 ten month old pullets, a Welsummer, a brown leghorn and the EE. I wish I could clone that little EE!

Are you close to those fires?

Thankfully I'm north of any of the major fires, just need to keep an eye out for local fires being near a forest

I was pretty disappointed that the other two pullets quit playing this fall when the Faverolles did! Like Blooie says “they ain’t pez dispensers!”

When did the pullets hatch? The 2 times I got them at the end of April they started in the fall and then quit for the winter All three batches that were early June hatches started later in the fall, even officially at the beginning of winter and (at least so far) kept at it.

My 2 lovey Rhode Island Reds and my gorgeous sex linked hens are now six months old. They started laying around the 15th of December. They all are laying everyday. The eggs are beautiful and perfect. So proud of my ladies.

I got 11 quail eggs (12 hens) & 6 chicken/pullet eggs today!!!
