How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I have EIGHTEEN dozen eggs in my fridge!!!

Angel food cake takes 12 eggs. Of course that is only the whites, you have to figure out what to do with a dozen yolks. A very large batch of chocolate truffles will take care of them. And you can make eggnog with a dozen eggs.

6 eggs from 6 laying hens! Just waiting on two more pullets!

I wish mine would learn to write. I do have a variety of breeds so I have a chance to know who laid what but I still have to catch them in the act and determine a difference between the eggs of girls that are the same breed.

My ceramic eggs have been disappearing somehow..... weird.

I made an egg out of a scrap piece of cherry wood. Been in the nest box for a year and a half at least. It went missing a few months ago ... and showed back up in the nest a few days ago. I SWEAR I scrounged all through the shavings in the box when it disappeared. And yesterday a plastic egg that had been in another nest box for months was out in the barn alley.

I got a dozen today. My last EE to lay “may” have laid her first egg today. I will have to catch her on the nest to be sure though.

I just happened to have a ziploc bag in my pocket that I quickly tossed it into.... I didn't give it time to stink!

It shouldn't have stunk unless it was rotten. Just being poopy on the outside won't make it smell on the inside!

My daughter gets it. It was her pullet. Can’t wait to fry it up for her tomorrow.

I figured it was a few days old. But our high temps have been in the low 40s F. I put it in the bag to keep from getting egg all over me, lol. Grace should've been my middle name!

It's like an Easter egg hunt here everyday, but they are all in boxes of some sort. 20 total today.... I don't think that egg I cracked was from today, I think it was a few days old. My ceramic eggs have been disappearing somehow..... weird.

I had a black snake eat one once. I think it thought it was a real egg. It was during the summer so I guess it was warm like a real egg. I'm sure it probably killed the snake.

I had one swallow and try to digest one. It died. I cut the egg out, washed it & back into the nest it went!

Also I ventilated the laying box it was in & the coop at the same time!!!

It went missing a few months ago ... and showed back up in the nest a few days ago.

They carry them under their wing.
