10 today! It’s the first double digit day I’ve had in a while.

9 today. My skelter runneth over and I never thought that would happen.

We got 5 out of about 30 hens... most are just starting to lay and some are new to the flock, so everyone is settling in. I usually average at about 15 eggs a day and the number gradually goes up as they start to lay!! Definitely think they are hiding some from me today though...

That reminds me, I need to check the new one. She's real flighty and don't like people at all.... or other chickens too it seems the way she is so aloof. Need to see if she's laying or not, cause if she is, she's hiding them and we need to nip that in the bud real fast if thats the case. Last thing I need is an 8 month old nest to be found at 2 am under my window when one finally lets loose.

7 Yesterday big girls I have a dome for a coop left and old tarp on it put the new one over it. Rats found homes between them .. Cut that out yesterday but freaked the birds out bad.. 2 at banty
