How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

They're still on an egg strike. Even though it's been summer weather here 9_9 chickens.
The rooster is beginning to take his role as a rooster more seriously though. Today, that meant letting me know that he was Very Upset that it's raining. Wouldn't shut up until I went out and topped off the feeder (they had plenty of food, but like cats, if it's not Full then it's obviously Empty).

My dang birds have decided to go on strike for the winter. I only have 2 layers as of now, both standards, and 2 POL d’Uccle pullets that probably won’t lay till spring. I hate buying eggs I caught both of my big girls sleeping in the nesting box because the hay was cozy last night

7 today. Looking good! Numbers going up. Caught my black bantam Cochin cockerel trying to mate my Sapphire Gem today! Looked like a monkey on horseback!

26 - caught two naughty leghorn pullets snacking on an egg in the nest box so who know how many there really were. Was in the 30s most of last week. I'm moving the eaters out and installing a rollaway nest box in this coop.

One lone banty egg today. I’m so eager for my pullets to start laying. I know it will be worth the wait though.

So many of mine are close! This one has been circling in the corners of the coop when everyone is outside, almost as if she is trying to figure out what to do…put out oyster shell for the first time this week and someone ate it….once winter solstice hits and we get more light, I’m guessing she’s first, or maybe one of my red birds!

Can’t wait to join in and say ONE EGG! lol
