4 eggs today.

Ok Im in a quandry now. My 4 hens lay, for the most part, early in the day. When I put the hens up at night I check for eggs one last time. Early this morning 6:15 am my husband went out to let the girls out and he found an egg in the straw under their roost. It was ice cold. My granddaughter just told me she found 4 eggs this morning at around 9:30. One of the girls laid 2 eggs??!!!
We found 4 eggs yesterday as we do almost every day. They have 5 nesting boxes available to them but they usually lay in the same box.
Is it odd for a hen to lay 2 eggs in one day ?
I know we didn't miss one because of its location but we check periodically thru out the day for extra eggs.
