How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

For the first time 2!. Got three pullets at start of June. One started laying 6/7 days a week in October. The other two kind of stalled, and I was thinking it was seasonal. However, in last week, the smallest one, the one I thought would lay last, grew out her comb and waddles practically within a few days, then started squatting every day when I fed them. I then was noticing more activity in the coop and nesting box. I had a smallish egg this morning, Which was slightly darker brown then the ones I've been getting. I said I wonder if it was her. Wouldn't you know it, this afternoon had another egg, from the one that has been laying, which proved it was more than one. I'm excited another is laying and very excited it started laying even though it's winter. I've heard barred rocks and especially pullets lay well for winter, and being in Wisconsin was a factor in my choice in June.

Congratulations, it is so exciting when they start to lay, and figuring out who's laying which eggs! Are all 3 pullets Barred Rocks? I have one BR and she's a steady layer, even in our darkening days of winter. (She's also a sweet goofy floof, so mellow and friendly...love that girl!) Keep us posted, maybe #3 will start soon!

4 eggs today, Martha's blue, the 2 Eggers' greens and I think the Delaware's brown so far; that's probably it for today being 3pm, they're usually done by then.

We had over 3.5" of rain yesterday, first "atmospheric river" of the season; the girls huddled in their covered run and hung out in the coop (instead of chickening-around in their big outer run) so it was really Poop City in there when I went to clean up between rainstorms today.😜😝

All three are barred rocks. My first chickens and wanted them to be similar and wanted everything to be as consistent as possible. When I expand I plan on trying some new breeds potentially.

8! 7 pullet and my first green from one of my EE 😍
