In my experience, pullets who lay through their first winter usually take a break during their second winter. And pretty much every winter after that. Although you'll have one here and there who'll lay all winter just to keep you guessing.

And my chickens did me a solid and slipped in a seventh egg sometime this afternoon, so 7 out of 7 again today!

Three today! Juin got to work bright and early this morning to make up for yesterday, Août laid her egg at 7am as per usual, and Juillet gave me a bigger egg than normal. Now I have plenty to make Christmas cookies!
