One of my chickens had her comb ripped by a young rooster and it bled quite a bit. I isolated her for a few days, applied neosporin. The injury affected the shape of her comb quite a bit. It looks sort of like a rose comb when it should be a straight comb.9 today. I opened up 3 more nest boxes today because the girls have been fighting over the 3 they had. My barred rock was bleeding from her comb so I imagine one of the other girls pulled her out of the nest box by the comb.
I think my girl will heal up pretty quick. I put some hen healer cream on it. It didn’t look like much damage. The feeder looked like a crime scene because she wiped her comb against it as she was eating. That’s a nice basket of eggs!12 today. Great job, ladies! The blue one in the middle is from my Easter Egger who was on a molt break. It’s usually light blue but is so light it is almost white! Maybe will take her a bit to get back to normal.View attachment 3747249
