How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I got 5 out of 7 today, but one broke in the nest, and another cracked in my hand when I was washing it. I scrambled that one with 5 more to give to my girls. I added a handful of crushed eggshells to the scramble, since they evidently need more to make their eggs harder.

Since one broke in the nest I'm calling today a 4 egg day.

Six eggs so far at 8am, and one of them is humongous! Largest yet from my girls, I think. It weighs 116 grams, over a quarter of a pound.

I can't personally relate, but yeah, I bet the hen was relieved once it passed. LOL

3 again! 1 big round egg (Juillet), 1 long pointy egg (Août), and 1 little egg (Juin).



Lots of intermittent rain today. We keep running outside to forage when the sky clears, and then I scoop them up, muddy feet and all, and book it into their run again as it suddenly starts pouring. Rinse (literally) and repeat.

11 today. Someone pushed out a double yolker yesterday so I suppose she took a much deserved break.
