How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

2 today, Juin and Août.

We gave their run a spring cleaning and swapped out the old leaf litter. Now the garden is well mulched

4 today. I decided to disrupt the girls' routine today. I've locked them out of the coop and the day run, and am keeping them in the secure run. I think it's good to shake things up in the chicken world from time to time...

4 out of 4. Debbie’s egg was in the nest box with two others this morning. Good shell too!

Well it looks like only 4 eggs today from my seven hens. I guess they didn't appreciate that I locked them up in the secure run all day yesterday.

I think it's important to lock them up like that every once in a while so they get used to the confinement. If I were to leave my place for a couple of days they'd have to be confined to the secure run during that time, so I'm getting them prepared for that potential situation.

I guess chickens remember, don't they?
