11 intact eggs plus egg shell fragments so all the ladies contributed today.
The sun was shining and there was a lovely breeze, all and all it was a great day although it would have been much better if I didn't have to spend part of it at work.
I did get to go home a bit earlier and made the most of it and hung out with the girls.
Juin has started hopping into my lap for midday naps again while the other girls forage. She’s such a sweetie. We relax together for a while, and then I have to carry her sleepy self under my arm as I try to keep up with Août, who is determined to chase down each and every butterfly she can see, with Juillet not far behind.
2 so far…one still warm when I let the chickens out at daylight…the other in the Crepe Myrtles. And now, almost dusk, I found two Banty eggs in the box. 4 total for the day.
8 eggs from 10 hens that are laying. I have two 'retirees' that haven't laid an egg for quite a while now. They are the welfare cases around here, I guess. LOL!
Two today, but then I discovered a secret stash. What is the rule for eating these? I doubt they're more than a week old and were very cool to the touch when I collected them this morning.
