7 today and a new layer! I think it's Coffee, my third Starlight Green Egger -- she has a little crest, so I think she's a bym with a little Legbar in her haha

Lighting is wild; these are the same 7 eggs:

The oblong one is the first egg from Coffee -- that was in a nest anyway. I haven't found any nest out in the hedge -- but today we cleared a massive path out to where they hang out, so we can start scoping it out better.

It's a bigass hedge:

It's really ideal for them - its absolutely covered overhead, and thick too. We made sure to keep the cover over but clear underneath so we could walk through it and see what we could see.

About 8-10 of the chickens 'escape' over/under the fence every day to lounge in the hedge; The rest stay around the hen house.

None really! But one of my hens who hasn't laid since March was acting off this evening. I was thinking a shell less egg, so I treated for that and sure enough she laid a good sized one with a long "tail" attached.

12 eggs today, my wee OEGB bantam pullet laid another egg today.

It’s the one in the centre, it’s a good size egg for wee chickie.

Poor wee gal, glad she passed it all!

My silkie also laid a soft egg today; I have started her back on calcium every night now. I also gave her 1/4 of a low dose aspirin as she looked like she had some discomfort.

Poor wee gal she is 3.5 yrs old now.
