How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

It's late afternoon and I haven't even looked yet. I might wait until tomorrow and pick up 2 days worth. To tell the truth, I'm kind of getting tired of eggs. LOL

1660 so far this year, and I bet I've eaten close to 1000 of them. Dat's a lot of eggs! Divided by the Julian date (332), that's just over 3 eggs a day, every day.
Wow!

So….. have you started clucking yet? 😉

9 yesterday, and Sophia, on her own, laid in the nest. I'm wondering if us clearing out the Shed one made her think twice. Custard didn't lay at all yesterday.

that, or she's laying somewhere else BWAHAH

There are some places in the hedge I cannot get to to move stuff around to see -- and I really just don't want a bunch of spiders falling on me. That's legit the reason why I am not digging around the hedge to see where they may have a hidden nest. It's THICK in there in places.

Also they have discovered the hedge across the driveway now and I see them in there regularly.

The cutest part about all of this? They share these hedges with Eastern Cottontails. We have even spied them grazing together. It's goddang adorable.

Also; Happy Thanksgiving yall!!

My kiddos just want to attack the rabbits, and squirrels, and any wild bird that lands in their run.

Last year I found a few of my young pullets up a couple of the spruce trees trying to chase the squirrels and birds.

Hello all! Happy Thanksgiving!

My ladies slowed down a bit since I last checked in. We were getting 4-6 eggs for a while as the days have become shorter, but it's picked up as we had 8,9 eggs this weekend. That the new hens have started laying regularly helped! Thanks girls!
I will be depending on hubby for egg counts and chicken tending as I am away visiting family.
