How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Swoooooon. I long for the day I can have a nice little piece of land and have all the breeds I want with the option of free ranging. 🤤
I don’t free range here, too many predators. They have the whole barn to roam in during the day, in good weather I let them out when I get home in their run and out in the yard in front of the barn.

In the winter the wimps don’t go outside unless there is no snow and it’s mild.

I joke I am going to need a bigger barn to house the breeds I want 😆

Wimps: we had a good snow squall the past couple days - they got outside first time today since last weekend. The youngsters freaked out and kept trying to fly over the evil white stuff, I had to rescue half a dozen of them hahaha.

I shovelled the snow a bit for them and threw down some old bedding from the horses stalls. The chooks went out a bit but it started snowing again so they all came back in.

Got 10 eggs today.
Is this the start of a ‘bucket of chicken’?

Didn't snap a pic but I had 9 yesterday, Sophia being a good girl and laying in the nest since I cleared out the shed -- Custard, however, still lays there if it suits her. It's actually fun to go check

I have a 30 week old Jersey Giant who is JUST growing her wattles and comb finally, her 2 'sisters' have been laying for awhile now.

My Buff Orpington Blanche is getting her comb and wattles in and getting BIG, we love her so much. So she is next on the list of possible layers soon too.

17 ladies; 12 of which I know are laying.
