Only if you have a broody hen, lol.I don’t free range here, too many predators. They have the whole barn to roam in during the day, in good weather I let them out when I get home in their run and out in the yard in front of the barn.
In the winter the wimps don’t go outside unless there is no snow and it’s mild.
I joke I am going to need a bigger barn to house the breeds I want
Wimps: we had a good snow squall the past couple days - they got outside first time today since last weekend. The youngsters freaked out and kept trying to fly over the evil white stuff, I had to rescue half a dozen of them hahaha.
I shovelled the snow a bit for them and threw down some old bedding from the horses stalls. The chooks went out a bit but it started snowing again so they all came back in.
