I did, but I am not sure why they just want the box that being occupied.

FOMO, I think. When one chicken has something all the others want it too. I saw four of my chickens all packed in the same box one time. It's a big nest box but still, it was a tight fit.

I have a whole bunch moulting so they are not laying. And the older ladies not laying due to winter.

I have had the line up to use one single nest box. I have 10 nest boxes….

Ten eggs today! (9 yesterday)

You can put fake eggs in each of the other nest boxes to make them more appealing.

Didn't work for me. I have, I think, 9 or 10 nest boxes for 19 girls, some on the floor. Most have been used at one time or another. Right now three are being used. I have golf balls in every single nest. Doesn't matter. They will still double up or push each other out or stand in line and scream to use whichever nest is the preferred nest for that day. It's like toddlers who don't want a toy unless somebody else has it. Children! Honestly!

3 eggs from 7 laying hens!! they are older layers and it's cold here so I'm glad I got that many
