Yes, and I have them all on a calcium Vit D supplement in their water (it smells lovely and they like it), being winter esp they need Vit d supplementing.

I think she has been laying a couple times a week, and I think she is still laying soft eggs, one of the other hen’s egg was messy from a broke egg, there were no parts left so it was eaten. This weekend I will keep an eye on her and see if she is laying the soft eggs. I also have someone else in the main gang laying soft eggs. I suspect Petunia. I had a lot of issues with her last year. She will also go on an implant if she is going to lay soft eggs.

Even barnyard mutts can have egg issues.

Reason I ask - if you put calcium and Vit D in the water, in order to get the proper dose, they have to drink ALL the water, and ... well, that's not going to happen. But if you just pop the pill in her beak she gets the proper dose right away.

The vet has to do it. I understand it's pretty expensive but it keeps her from laying eggs for several months.

I think my birdies are finally coming out of their winter strike! I got 5 eggs today and I’m pretty sure I know who each came from. Great news because I plan to start collecting eggs for hatching in 3 more weeks. Here’s to hoping the rest start laying before then!
Top 2 are from my large fowl mixes, bottom 2 from the 2 light brahmas, and far right is from my smallest BJG.

I’m still expecting 1 or 2 more today from an EE and SLW.
