How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I was planning all along on keeping the first I hatched whether it was a boy or not. So the older one is staying, especially with those colors he's got. He does look a bit like Hawk! I'm going to try to keep the other boy, I'm going to attempt a bachelor flock... that's really the only way I could keep him. We'll see what happens.

She's doing great!
That’s wonderful to hear! I’m so glad you’re planning to keep all her babies. Both boys are super handsome :)

Yesterday 4 eggs. I appreciate just 4 eggs, less creaming before and after.😆

There was hardly any egg during the winter months so my backyard was quiet, suddenly it is super noisy......so noisy egg laying started again....everyone want the same nest box while the rest of the nest boxes left empty. Only heaven now why?

16 yesterday, 10 from pullets. I’ve confirmed who 2 eggs are coming from and then this one popped up so now it’s the guessing game again. So far I’m guessing it’s from one of the 2 OE daughters who hatched from a similar shade minus the spots. If I didn’t know any better I would think it came from a game bird.

Pretty egg!

Sadly, I went from 22 hens down to 5, while I was out of town for a month,(due to a major raccoon attack)😢😭
1 hen is broody with 5 chicks, leaving me with 4 layers.
I got 3 eggs today. 4 yesterday.
I'm so sorry you had such a horrible loss. That must have been devastating! It's amazing how much hope the little things bring, though. Your new babies are a good start!

I would be armed at night just to take vengeance on those nasty critters. I am so sad for your loss. I hope the new babies are good and strong.

Thank you both!
It was so devastating!! I literally cried myself to sleep several nights in a row.
The new babies ARE strong and healthy!

The coop has been fortified, and is on its 4th flawless night of testing,(with an unwanted rooster).
The rest of the flock sleeps peacefully, in a separate predator-proof dog kennel.
