First time posting on this thread and doesn't sound like much by comparison but I have to say that I was SO excited when I went out an hour after cleaning the coop this morning to find THREE.... yes THREE eggs in one of the nesting boxes. This is a big deal for us because when we first got our 5 hens about 6 weeks ago, no one was laying. Then we slowly started to get one a day. The two Marans were laying every other day pretty regularly then our little campine/dorking bantum started laying a couple of weeks ago. We were getting 2 a day... once in a while 3 for the past couple of weeks but the Hamburgs weren't doing anything but running away and getting into trouble so I had pretty much made up my mind that they were going on the dinner table. Then the day before yesterday, Bad Girl (the worst Hamburg) decided to lay. And she's been laying every day since! This morning I got two from the Marans and one from Bad Girl. Should have one more from the bantum by now which will make 4 which will be a record!
