How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I was going to give what I couldn't sell to the food pantry. But I am having a hard time just keeping up with the demand. I am 100% too today! 11 out of 11 old enough to lay. I make enough to cover my feed cost. And that is all I worry about. I didn't get into having chickens to make a buck. I just like doing it! Semi-retired and to much time on my hands. I don't buy anything organic! I have a garden. And that's as organic as it gets or when I buy something from the Amish Market! I feed my tomatoes watered down chicken poo! Does that make them organic? No it just makes them fed the old fashion way to me! Just like grandma use to do it!

Nice! My girls are loving this cool weather lately too! 7/7 5 days running. Yea I hear ya on the "making a buck" If that was my purpose, I'd be managing things a whole lot differently! We give the neighbors a bunch to keep the peace, and I got a couple a teenagers eating me outta house and home, the chickens get the (steal) tomatoes and the squash that gets too big before it is picked! I spoil them with yogurt and pumpkins cause it makes me happy, and also makes their shells nice and hard. I started making my own ACV and canning some stuff, just experimenting on a few little sustainable living ideas as a hobby but will continue to have to keep my day job to survive LOL!!

I guess I will have to go and check on egg prices here. I haven't been in that area of the grocery for awhile. LOL! I have about 3 1/2 dozen in my fridge

I think I'm sooo close! I found a feather of either my RIR or my Brown/White Sexlink in the nesting boxes today! I'm so excited!

They're getting so close, I can feel it!

14 of 17 today... I have yet to get to 100%. Looking forward to 17 of 17. So far 15 has been the best day we've had.
