We have been seeing rats during the day and I am so hoping the blk snakes will come out with the warm weather. We’re setting rat traps out again tonight.

My chickens are catching a couple mice (that I've seen) a day. Ah LOVE ma chickens!!! (We don't have much for rats around here, thankfully.)

3 duck 4 chicken. One black east indie sitting on a clutch of 14 call eggs.

Wow can she fit all of them under her? I wanna see!

Not the best picture since she covered herself with tons of leaves/vines, she started nesting in the garden in an unprotected spot so I had to make her a little broody coop out of scrap wood, then just last night another east indie duck started nesting in a hollowed-out tree.

Yes, I'm not building another secure coop for her and I don't think she is going to take to kindly me moving her nest to a protected spot anyways. I kicked her out of the nest last night, right now she is running around the yard doing that hysterical broody laugh.

I was so shocked all 3 of my Muscovy females are laying 2 will be 9 in July and my youngest will be 8 in May. My 12 yr old hasn't laid since she was 8 yrs old. I had to go back and look I had Ruthie at 13 and she is just a mere 12 yrs old. lol

Well, your lucky, I have a few ducks that for a year now will sit in the nesting box till afternoon, they don't even lay any eggs, they're trying to make me think they are making their keep around here, so I don't kick them out .
