I get one egg two days in a row and usually skip the next day. I am pretty sure it is the light brown leghorn. 4 hens, 4 pullets at point of lay- just waiting for the urge to strike them.

Has anyone tried preserving their extra eggs? Was looking on you tube and saw some interesting videos on how to do that. Supposed to keep them good for over a year. I could really use extra eggs in winter- have to buy mine from the store.

You break the eggs into a bowl and scramble them, then pour this mass into zip-lock bags and close it with as little air inside as you can. Then lay the bags flat into the freezer so that it freezes quickly. The resulting tiles can be stacked up and stay fresh for 1-2 years.
We use this for bakery and to make scrambled eggs.
