I sold 2 18ct for $5ea, and 1 doz. for $4. It amazes me how sometimes people will want 3 dozen @ $4 each vs 2 (18 pk for $5 each). I try to tell them that its cheaper to buy the 18cts, but they insist on the dozen's, so I end up making a few extra bucks.
I will not sell the small or medium eggs, I give those away as "extra's" to my regular customers, family and friends, they get the biggest kick out of the first eggs.
2 dozen for $3.00/dz and I've got orders for 3 more tomorrow. I think we have enough unless Hurricane Julie blows through and absconds with a dozen or more. She's our daughter.
I joined a local farmers market and sell as many as I bring. I sold 10 dz @ $4 ea. and was sold out in 1 1/2 hrs! I feed my hens organic feed and greens from the garden. Other ppl @ the market sell for 5.50 a dz!! 3.50 for a half dz. Not sure how well they sell, but they are certified organic and I'm not. I love my hens, they are so funny and cute! Right now egg production has fallen off almost by half, and my regular customers are disappointed. One woman I hadn't seen before bought my last three dz, next week if that happens again I will inform the person that I don't have 3 dz to sell them. It just didn't feel right, especially when I had to tell regular customers that I was sold out! I'm so proud when ppl tell me how yummy the eggs are, I would love to get more hens, some EE's, but I would need a bigger coop!
Sold 5 18 pks today to one of my regular customers. $25, cha ching! Havent heard from her in over a month and when she called me today, she informed me that she had gone on a five week road trip on the west coast and not a day went by that she didnt think about my eggs! Glad to know others besides me are thinking about my eggs.
I asked her why she wanted so many eggs, usually picks up an 18 pk once a week and she told me that she didnt want to run out. I just had to laugh. Then one of my kids stops by the house, collects the rest of the eggs and goes skipping away. Can you imagine, I have 61 hens and not one egg in my house!?!?? Somethings wrong here!

I guess with the heat, our girls aren't laying like they should be. I haven't seen Jen post in a while. Are you still selling Jen? My girls have cut back a lot.
I have sold a few hens to several people, so I'm waiting on my growing girls to start laying. I think the heat is slowing production, thus slowing sales. I hope it picks up for us all.
