Yeah, I have 2 that have been on ceramic eggs for over a week now. 1 is a pullet that hasn't probably laid more than a couple dozen eggs herself yet. The other is an ol' faithful assistant broody hen (she likes to co-brood with other hens). I just put 9 guinea eggs under her today, no sense in using my electricity when I can use her fluffy butt.I have a Marans that just went broody. Poor girl doesn’t have any fertile eggs to sit on because my EE cockerel is still to young I think. Plus I take all the eggs every day. She’s a trooper though, she’s trying her best to hatch a golf ball.
I've seen pictures of them with drapes....8 yesterday, 6 today. No one will use the nest boxes. Anyone here ever try putting curtains on the darn things? I am SO tired of crawling under them for the eggs.
