how many hanging feeders for a flock of 24 standard laying hens

    i have 2, 30 lb hanging feeders in the coop. is that enough for all of them . i keep the feeders full . i think a handful of my birds get pushed out from the feeders from the domianant birds.

    That should be more than enough! Especially if there is food left over the next day...then you know there is enough for all of them. The chickens lowest on the pecking order will likely get their turn, or eat what falls on the ground. Some of my younger chicks follow me around at feeding time in the morning...I leave a little heap on the ground for them to pick at.

    I've got one 30-lb feeder in my coop for 30 hens. No one has starved yet! Everyone gets a chance to eat, just not at the same time. Once my expansion project is done I'll be adding a 10 lb feeder to the other side for winter when they'll be indoors more and there might be more bullying over the food.
