How many hens could fit comfortably in this coop and run?

They would probably be out 6-10 hours a day. I have read that you have to lock them in the coop though when you first get them before free ranging so they don't run away, right? Theyd probably just be put in another large fenced area (about 80 ft by 40 ft). Its 4ft chain link with 2ft welded wire on top. Would they fly over it you think? Sorry for all the questions, this is just my first time with adult chickens. I got 2 little 5 month old barred rock pullets today.

(Btw that was just where they stayed until i got the coop set up. They won't stay there.)

Also, im SO surprised with how friendly they are! I sat on the ground and they were both immediately in my lap.

Barred Rocks are not a breed you should keep if space is limited. They do need more space than the average dual-purpose breed, and are very active and inquisitive birds. If bored or crowded, they can become aggressive towards other birds.

Depends on the breed of bantams. Bantam Cochins and bantam Brahmas can be nearly the size of a Leghorn.

Svart Honas aren't bantam. Too small a coop for those particular birds.

To OP: You might only need to lock them in for a few days to get them to accept that the coop is home - for a couple of days, the tighter quarters should not be an issue.

Your ranging set up sounds nice for 2 birds, and they'll enjoy the 6+ hours a day with that much room. Could the chickens fly over the top? Yes, and mine have done so, but with just wire fencing it doesn't give them much to land on which discourages them from trying to get all the way over. You could consider clipping one wing if it's really needed, but I would wait and see how they behave first. If they like the set up they really will have no reason to want to escape.

As I said in an earlier post, bantam cochins aren't as small as most bantams. Cochins are a giant breed, bantam Cochins are a scaled down version. That means they are very large for 'bantam' chickens.
