how many of us have a chair in the chookhouse???

I have an African wooden folding chair a friend brought for me. It really works well because is folds flat and I tuck it away so the girls don't poop on it. When it is open it is very close to the ground so I get up close and personal with the nosey teenagers. Everyone is right about the de-stress, my family knows not to disturb me when I am having my timeout with the Hens! Thanks for all the good stories!

I have a chair right outside my coop! Of course, I can sit anywhere outside, as my birds free range. But I do love to sit outside the coop, cause no matter where the babies are they come over and visit with me when they see me.

When we first put the babies it the coop (5...6 wks old?) DH bought deck chairs so we could sit down and watch them when they were in the run. So fun! We would sit down there w/ an upturned bucket for a table and have happy hour while watching them play. Crostinis, red vino, and birds. Life doesn’t get better. Or does it?

When we started free ranging them we coaxed them to come up to our house. So now we sit on the porch and they hang about all afternoon. Ahh, joy.

I have an old pottery wheel stool out there in the run! It's so peaceful to listen to them and watch their antics.

I have a plastic chair in the yard, I never thought to turn it upside down! I just hose it off daily. The hens free range so I especially use the chair to give treats to get them back in the yard. I was so glad I did yesterday, I knew a thunderstorm was on the way and I didn't want them caught out in it. It hit hard and after only about 5 minutes the phone rang. Thinking it was my Mom I answered "It's raining!", I think I almost gave the guy on the other end a heart attack, he was from the National Weather Service calling me as a weather spotter!
