I wasn't ranting. The guy she was running against actually had pictures of her with a target on her face. I will do the research and find you specific quotes made by those on the looney shows. Did you see the childish snit, that one party threw, about a reading of our most important document....If that doesn't tell you something, I don't know what will.

ETA: As far as the radio stations, let the free market decide...Defund NPR, and let them hit the streets, like everyone else, looking for advertisment, in order to function....If noone is supporting your message, why should they support you?.......It's kind of like buying a broken down used car, from the same guy, over and over, just because he's your uncle.

So, let us just not make this personal. I apologize if you thought I was ragging on you, well maybe I was a bit, sorry. Just a bit tired of having everything that happens like this being flagged as a right -wing versus left-wing thing. So I confess, I fell right into doing the same thing. This was a terrible heinous crime of the worst sort, emotions are going to be strong and even out of control for most people who have regard for human life. Let's call a truce on this and send up our prayers for those who have lost friends, and loved ones in this tragedy.

It could all mean that we may be closer to what the OP suggested in this thread.

Edit to add: Intended as a reply to post above by Dunkopf. However, we could all restrain ourselves from making this personal in anyway - thanks.

There's a lot of misinformation on both sides. If we have social disintegration it will be caused by the media on TV and the internet and radio. You're right Royd. It's on both sides. These people need to tone it down. They say whatever they feel will get the most viewership. I just hate to see it all happening. It's not about right and wrong. It's all about money and it's tearing apart our social fabric.

I apologize too. I'm just upset about the whole thing and I want the media to take some responsibility for it.

Clearly this young man had serious mental health issues and he responded in a negative way to irresponsible statements by some people. That is why we need to be careful when we speak in open forums like this. We may not be public figures, but you never really know who is reading your words.

BTW, Mein Kampf does not represent socialism in any way shape or form. Hitler took over the National Socialist Party and turned it fascist. Be wary of labels. Neo-liberal economics is as far from liberal as you can get etc etc etc....... Meanings change, people use labels to deliberately mislead, use your own judgement, don't substitute other people's for your own.

No, but the Communist Manifesto does, and that was on his reading list, and since he claims to be a man of words, and grammar, I'm sure he has probably read it.

He was probably a kid who was never made to take out the trash or make his bed, and when real life rose up and slapped him in the face, he just wasn't prepared to handle it...Much like a huge chunk of today's society....Something for nothing is the common mindset, and what better group of people to instill the wonderful benefits of the nanny state.

Inelligence and maturity require that you are able to hold conflicting ideas in your head without necessarily adopting them. Ie - I have read many works of both fiction and non-fiction that I do not agree with. Does the fact I have read the bible make me christian? Does the fact I have read the Q'ran make me Muslim? Simply because I have read something does not mean that it is what I believe.

It is so with you too. I know you have read many of my posts and I am certain you DO NOT agree with much of them!

There is alot of evidence that this young man was mentally ill and connected with the fringe of both the left and the right.
