How Many? Please help :)

So we built out coop yesterday (pics coming soon) and we were wondering how many chickens can a 4x8 coop hold?

10 for 3 sq feet per bird and 8 if you want 4 sq feet per bird

In case you want to change the coop size

Take the width times the length 4x8=32 then 32 divided by 3 (3 square feet) = 10 2/3 Or 10 chickens

No Prob...we are using 3 sq foot per bird. Plus 10 sq feet outside for their run. Plus we are free ranging too so they have plenty of space.

HEHE Say that now...later that will change LOL Were new too and we were starting with 6 chickens (thoughts started in feb)...made an 8x8 coop and now we have 13 in there now (8 weeks old), 12 in brooder one, and another 8 in brooder two! (were only keeping a total of 21 ONLY because that is what will fit in our hen house) LOL Good luck with keeping to 10
