how many roosters with hens?

I purchased a straight run of 6 chicks from TSC. I'm thinking I've got at least 2 roosters out of it. Plus one I know for sure because I ordered them. I have about 23 hens so I plan on keeping just 1 rooster in with them. The other roosters I'll turn loose in the yard to roam and fend for themselves. I have one that roams around already.

My chickens are starting to feather out and I get in the coop every day with them and try to hold at least a couple. This way they get used to me.

I did the same with my fully grown chickens when they were chicks and I can pet them now and pick them up. They aren't afraid at all of me.
I did the same thing all my hens come running to me when i enter there pen

I just want to know there going to go to a good home and thats going to be hard since its almost winter and alot of people arnt looking for roosters.

Also does anybody know people that would be looking for roosters this time of year
I think that you are on the perfect website for rehoming roosters. I heard that there's some kind of state link/forum so that you can talk to people nearby... I think. (I only just joined a few days ago but I've kept chickens for years.) Check up on that and I'm sure you will find someone willing to take on your roos, possibly even willing to keep them without culling.

here is just what one of my hens look like.View attachment 1144570
Put some saddles on your girls. They won't lose anymore back feathers. There are patterns online, easy to make - no sew patterns or buy them on Amazon. I used saddles for a couple of my hens. I guess they were the hotties of the group. LOL!
Yup, there's a lot of good points made here. Lot's to consider...take your time. Be firm in your decision. Collect eggs daily, no more chickletts till you put together a plan of how things are gonna run in your flock. You got this!

When I rehomed my two roosters it was October. I made a nice sign with there pictures on it and I had some little cards with the sign in a pocket. The sign said "Rooster to good home, not for eating or fighting." Call for appointment. I was so lucky 4 people called me. I ended up giving one to the County Agriculture Inspector, who was out here on a job. I am still friends with her. Then, the second one went to some friends of a neighbor. They wanted a roo for their elderly dad who lived with them, he missed hearing a rooster. They also had 10 hens. Both new owners sent me pictures of the roos in their new homes.
