Congrats on the babies, obviously you and your kids are into them and I am happy for yall.
My dad caught a taranchilla (I know I spelt that wrong) for my 4 year old daughter, she insisted on putting the cage by her bed at night to sleep with Charolette. (shiver) We would catch moths for her to eat and I don't know why but I would watch her catch them and eat them. Completely grossed me out and gave me the heeby-geebies, but I still watched. I've had lots of snakes and have no problems feeding them, just critters with 8 legs. YUCK!

Its not a good idea to break or cut the stinger of.
They do use it for self defense only when scare the poop out of factor doesnt work. and they also use it when trying to subdue something larger than themselves. ie: very large crickets, locust etc.

Try putting a few crickets in with her while she is giving birth, maybe she thinks she needs to feed the offspring now and nothing is available.
also courtisy of Nat Geo and Animal Planet web site, what looks like them eating the off spring is only them cleaning the babies up.
not necessarily the facts here.

OEGBMan you can come live up here I will let you have all the Arachnids you can stand. I love the little bugs.
ps: not fat tail/yellow scorpions though.

How Cool!! My hubby had a male that we got for free from the store due to it killing all the others it was with. But all in all they are pretty cool lil guys and girls. How awesome yours is having babies! Keep the updates comin!

I've seen her ANNIHILATE crickets. what a caring mommy to not eat her babies, i always thought that was the coolest thing about scorpions. congrats to the new scorpion mommy!

sadly my Professor Cuddles is in the care of my aunt Kim for the time being. they wouldn't let me take her on the plane to bring her home, and we couldn't send my cosine Josh (a small plane pilot) because it was far too cold for her. she wouldn't have survived the trip. soon she'll be here with us!

she's stung me once but it was entirely my fault. felt just like a bee sting. i was like OWIE awww i know you love me *hand throbbing*


i miss her
