How many scorplings will there be? Baby update post 111

Oh, Katty, sorry you can't have Proffesor Cuddles with you right now. I know you miss her. Sounds like you made the right decision though. We lost our last one because of an ice storm and 9 days without power. I tried to keep him warm enough and just couldn't.

Fatso now has 11 babies and looks like she could have more.

And the new pics are where???
I need to see Fatso with her baby blanket

(I crack myself up sometimes)

Also, will you change her name to Big Mama now?

LOL....baby blanket. That's cute.

I am just about to put a new pic.

I was going to earlier but my cat ate the power cord for my laptop last night and the battery died. I had to post from my phone earlier. Just got the cord temporarily taped together and am uploading a new pic now.

I asked about the name and my son refused to change it...so I suppose, even with her new svelte figure, she will be Fatso.

Alright, here is Fatso with more babies.

Only 10 of the 11 are on her back, one is still under her tummy. I have no clue where she will put them if she has more!!!!

Poor girl. She seems awfully proud of her little cuties, though!! Oh, what you are seeing behind her is a book we use to "hide" her from the hamster next door. The hamster (Hazel) seems to get stressy if she can see her.

Gee....I wonder why???

You are welcome.

I am happy to show them off.....we kinda think they are adorable!!!

Actually, one of the babies is staying right over her eyes all the time!!!! He was even staying there a lot of the time when there were only two on her back. It is like he is playing peek-a-boo with her. LOL Poor thing. She seems to be tolerating it well.

OMG! You should make that your Avatar!

Thanks for the update. I can't believe how many she's had! How long til they turn dark? I am assuming they are softer, like crabs or something when they are born? That they harden up later?

It is really hard to get an exact idea of how long it will be until they turn hard, but putting all I have read together I am thinking a couple of weeks or a little longer. They will molt and then be brown and hard. At that time I can take them from their mother and they will eat without her assistance. And yeah, they are just little mushy things right now.

Someone earlier compared them to maggots. They kinda are, but so much cuter! They are the most perfectly formed babies. Every little detail is so tiny and so exact. I am just amazed by them!!!

LOL....I may think about changing my avatar to that.

Thanks.

It's funny, even my mother said she thinks they are adorable and she is so creeped out by the big ones!!! Maybe that is why she never comes to my house!!! LOL
