how many silkies ?

i have a 9x8 chicken coop almost done

and i was wondering how many silkies could fit in that coop and it will have a run

36 silkies if that is coop only. Silkies are a bantam breed which only require 2 square ft per bird. Or you can have 18 standard instead. Standard requires 4 square ft per bird.

That's great, because the more space chickens have, the happier they are and the easier they are to clean up after. I would never keep chickens, bantam or otherwise, in 2 sq. ft of space...well...unless I lived in an area that had year round warm weather and a nice BIG run...
