I have 4 large chickens and am wondering if I need more square feet inside my coop. This is the current dimensions.
  • Chinese Fir chicken coop holds up to 4 chickens
  • Features 2 access doors and a perch
  • 1 roof section lifts off for easy cleaning
  • Ramp leads to lower caged section
  • Measures 76L x 28.75D x 44.25H inches
  • Exercise pen roof: 37H in., highest point; 24H in. lowest point

Also it gets very cold in the winter here do I need a heat lamp or something in the coop

Generally recomended is 4 sq feet per bird inside and 10 sq feet in the run. Sounds like it's about 1/2 the size you need. If they are going to be confined to the coop in cold weather you might even need to go bigger. Grown chickens can stand pretty cold weather.

Wish I would have read more before I bought the **** thing! Thanks for the help I read the same thing but wanted others opinions.
