How many wine makers do we have here?

Chicken related question for you other winemkaers: do you let your chickens get into your pomace (the left over fruit after you press off the juice / wine)?

We dump all the pomace into the compost and the chcikens have unrestricted access to that. Thy seem to peck at it a bit when its fresh, but reallly get interested after a few weeks when it starts decomposing. Curiously, some of the chcikens do like to jump up and pluck ripe grapes from the vines, yet will ignore the fresh pomace. Go figure.

I have made some mead. It's basically wine just made with honey. I haven't tried it yet. I've got 12 bottles I made last year. Need to try one

My pineapple wine has come out better than I expected. It was my first time making it.

I made 15 gallons of satsuma wine. At first I thought that it was sour, so I just left it in the buckets. Well, it's a good thing that I did because it only needed to set a while. It turned out to be ok . A little dry but still ok.

I think I"m the only one in my circle who likes it. Everyone says that it's too sweet. GOOD! More for ME!!! :D

However, they are enjoying the Satsuma wine. I think the Satsuma wine is too strong. It has definitely aged. Almost taste like moonshine.

Wine maker here! I love making, and especially drinking it

I've only been making wine for 2-3 years now, but I improve with each batch. I just started a batch of grapefruit last Saturday. Hope it turns out as tasty as it smelled!
