How much are you charging/where do you live?

The list of states/egg cost has been entered in a new post called "Cost of eggs by State - Jan. 2010. I hope this helps!! Thanks for those who provided information, and I will continue to update if more replies come in.

I'm in Seattle, I sell my eggs at $5/dozen to my coworkers about as fast as the chickens lay them. Apparently the farmer's market runs out of eggs really quickly so there's not a lot of competition for similar quality eggs.

The chickens eat organic feed, they get to free range for about half an hour everyday and get homemade treats (polenta or cous cous with flax seeds & ground up egg shells, spent grains from beer brewing, fruit/vegetable discards from the garden). The eggs are rinsed in warm water if they're dirty, but I do tell my coworkers the eggs are not sanitized.

$2.5 a doz to co-workers and friends
$3 a doz and $4.00 for 18 to others

But I did make a mistake and post on Craigslist those prices and got a gal wanting 4.5 doz a week! Can't quite hack that, showd DH and he said "guess you'll have to get more chickens"
