I ordered some baby chicks awhile ago and they’re expected to get here on Thursday so I got Putin’s flockraiser for the baby chicks and the full grown ducks. I forgot to get oyster shell to go with and just barely ran out of layer feed and just got back from tractor supply. :barnie:he So before my next trip to Tractor supply I’ve ground up some egg shells for the time being but I was wondering how much egg shells will five laying ducks need?(Runner , two Rouen's, and two Muscovy) Thanks for the help!

I think you'll be fine until Thursday. The ducks probably aren't laying full strength like in the spring and summer so I really don't think I'd be worried about it. Crush up the shells you have and they'll be good until you get the oyster shells.

I'm glad I just came across this! Do you guys have trouble with drakes eating the oyster shells when you offer it on the side?

I've got 3 drakes and I've seen them all nibbling at the oyster shell but I think it was just to see what it was all about. It's not something that they continue to do. The girls sure do eat it though. I'm really surprised at how much they eat.
